Wildlife-friendly front garden in Maidstone
This little jewel of a front garden is set within a quiet cul-de-sac, but provides lots of impact. The client, who loves gardening, wanted a small terrace for a special bench surrounded by lots of planting, plus a small rock garden.
The small existing lawn was replaced with a new granite terrace and plank stepping stones through a pebble mulch for access. We also wanted to attract more bees and butterflies, so the borders are filled with an exciting mix of perennials and grasses, including Verbena, Lavender, Nepeta – and fragrant herbs. In addition, the planting is punctuated with clipped shrubs for structure and formality. The garden provides all-year-round interest and added kerb appeal. |
It was a pleasure to meet Susan. We discussed what flowers I like and she worked with me to help plan my garden, drawing up plans and 3D views for me to clearly see the design." |
